Up to 51 cm TL.

Indo-West Pacific in tropical waters.

Habitat:

Close to reefs, from 6 to 70 m depth.

Plectorhinchus polytaenia

Plectorhinchus polytaenia differs in having yellow horizontal stripes alternating with black-edged white stripes (vs. silvery with yellow horizontal stripes only).
