Characteristic features:
Colour:

Dark reddish brown sometimes with faint spots and/or dark bars, 2 white lines on caudal fin that converge posteriorly.

Size:

Up To 28 cm TL.

Distribution:

Indo-West Pacific in tropical waters.

Habitat:

Coral reefs, from 1 to 60 m depth.

Indonesian fisheries:

Caught with hook-and-line, gill nets, and in traps.
