Characteristic features:

Body mottled brownish and grey.


Up to 20 cm TL.


Indo–West Pacific, in tropical waters.


Sandy areas near reefs, to 15 m depth.


Feeds on small benthic invertebrates.

Indonesian fisheries:

Caught by shore seine and trawl.
