Faint oblique yellowish band on side from origin of lateral line to mid-base of dorsal fin, caudal-fin lower lobe bright yellow.

Size:

Up to 53 cm TL.

Distribution:

West Central Pacific in tropical waters.

Habitat:

Associated with deep rocky reefs, from 140 to 250 m depth.

Biology:

Feeds on planktonic organisms. Little is known about the biology or ecology of this species.

Indonesian fisheries:

Caught mainly with handlines.
