Characteristic features:
Colour:

Body pale reddish with large orange spots, black saddle on caudal peduncle, dark submarginal streak near upper caudal-fin tip.

Size:

Up to 20 cm TL.

Distribution:

Indo–West Pacific in tropical waters.

Habitat:

Coral reefs, from 3 to 40 m depth.
