Habitat:

Open coastal waters, from 30 to 90 m depth. Juveniles occurring in inshore areas and estuaries.

Biology:

Feeds primarily on crustaceans and small fishes. Adults occur in small groups.

Indonesian fisheries:

Caught mainly by hook-and-line, bottom trawls, gill nets, and traps
